Started filling last night:

Rough glass coat laid over. Tonight I’ll hopefully get it sanded and start glazing it smooth.

Got the glass sanded, added the first coat of filler:

Need to add more on the passenger side, but daylight was short.

Count me among one of the people who can’t hear certain phrases like “Carry on” without getting a song stuck in my head. Damn you, 30 + years of listening to classic rock stations (which, oddly enough , has had the same lineup for all those years. Classic is classic. )

/maybe that’s why they call them Rocker Panels

It’s never just surface rust, especially on the bottom of a door like that.

I would bet the inner lip is also rust and as soon as you start grinding to remove rust, you’ll find the affected area is about twice that large.

Interesting side note that “classic rock” now defines a specific era of rock music, kind of like “modern art” isn’t the same thing as the adjective “modern” on its own.

Because yeah, there are only like 250 songs that make up pretty much the entire playlist of any Classic Rock radio station.
